The fellow in the light colored coat in the middle of the picture looks like Don Castles from the class of '56. Where did the picture come from?

I think you're right about Don Castles. The picture is from page 81 of Springfield Entertainment: A Pictorial Quarterly (St. Louis: G. Bradley Publishing, 1996), edited by Curtis Mann, Edward Russo, and Melinda Garvert, curators of the Sangamon Valley Collection in the Lincoln Public Library.
